Adorable Ford still making cars

February 28, 2008 | Issue 5-09

DEARBORN, Mich. – The ever-cute Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) announced in a press conference today that the corporation is still making automobiles and even trying to sell them through a network of dealerships.

The news comes as consumer opinion that the automaker no longer exists is at an all time high, with even many Ford owners reporting doubts the company made it past the year 2005.

“Seriously, they can’t still be operating,” said Joe Denning, owner of a 2003 Ford Explorer. “I wish the people running Ford ran Long John Silver’s. Maybe I could still get a decent hush puppy.”

The company is not sure what is to blame for the perception that it has gone out of business, but Ford hopes to squash rumors of the company’s demise through today’s announcement and an invitation for anyone interested to tour a Ford factory.

“We want to assure our many customers and anyone looking to purchase a car that Ford is a brand you can trust,” said Ford spokesman Gerald Cagle. “As proof we still make thousands of cars each week, we offer anyone to take a guided tour of any of our manufacturing facilities the next time you’re in Cuautitlan, Mexico.”
