DALLAS — Despite the cutest little story about a hamster that turned somersaults scheduled to end the Channel 8 evening news broadcast, producers of at the Dallas television station decided to spend the last 30 seconds of the show’s broadcast on some sort of suspected genocide in South America or somewhere.

“Well, I could understand if it was confirmed genocide,” said Tim Bankman, Channel 8 news anchor. “But that hamster piece was gold.”

Viewers of the Channel 8 newscast also expressed interest in watching a story about a hamster over something so irrelevant as dozens of people being burned alive inside of a church in some other country.
